Inspired by a convergence of traditional and modular electronic instrument capabilities, ZTEC Instruments is pleased to announce the new ZT4610 family of digital storage oscilloscopes. With a price and feature set comparable to industry standard oscilloscope products from Tektronix, Agilent, and LeCroy, the ZT4610 family provides the first fully featured mid-performance modular oscilloscope on the market. Available in PCI, CompactPCI/PXI, and VXI, the ZT4610 family provides an intuitive and high speed software interface to satisfy even the most demanding automated test applications. And unlike other modular digitizers, the ZT4610 family combines all these features with traditional instrument ease of use for intuitive stand-alone user interaction.
The ZT4610 family offers a modular instrument leading 4 GS/s real-time sampling rate with 1 GHz analog bandwidth. For higher acquisition rates, either equivalent-time (multi-capture reconstruction) or interpolated-time (single-capture reconstruction) mode can be used to achieve up to 200 GS/s. Other acquisition modes include waveform averaging, high-resolution mode, and envelope detection. All multiple-capture modes allow the acquisition of up to 64k waveforms.
With 16 MS or 64 MS record length options, the ZT4610 family provides the deep memory required to acquire and visualize even the most complex signals. The deep memory can be used in either continuous or segmented mode. Combined with a convenient pan and zoom capability, continuous memory mode is ideal for general purpose troubleshooting and signal inspection. Segmented memory mode is ideal for the analysis of repetitive signals, such as those found in today’s telecommunication industry. Up to 32k waveforms can be rapidly captured and stored for viewing and analysis. For applications such as ultrasonic imaging, measurement arrays provide real-time segmented memory characterization. In addition to acquisition waveform memory, four 32 kS nonvolatile reference channels and four 512 kS calculation channels are also provided. For all waveform memory, auto-decimation downloads can be used to optimize user interface refresh rates.
Like all ZTEC oscilloscopes, the ZT4610 family is loaded with traditional oscilloscope features, such as flexible signal conditioning and advanced triggering. Features such as auto-configuration and self-calibration provide quick and easy instrument setup. Of course, no ZTEC oscilloscope would be complete without a comprehensive on-board analysis library. Powered by a 64-bit processor, this library includes typical oscilloscope vertical, horizontal, and frequency measurements. Calculations such as FFT and digital filtering are also provided. Advanced measurement capabilities, including limit and mask testing, peak detect, measurement statistics, and gated measurements, are provided for additional measurement flexibility. Four programmable measurement sets can be used for convenient viewing and storage of frequently used measurements.
Highlighting the ZT4610 family stand-alone usability is the new ZScope 2.0 application software. Unlike most modular instrument software packages, ZScope 2.0 provides a familiar traditional instrument user interface. Recognizable by anyone that has ever used an oscilloscope, most users will be up and running within minutes of installation. Instrument controls and indicators for horizontal, vertical, and trigger are grouped just as you would find on a traditional oscilloscope interface. The waveform graph, displayed on the left-hand side to be consistent with traditional oscilloscope displays, provides units per division scaling for simplified waveform interpretation. Even annoying Windows pop-up panels and vendor specific jargon has been eliminated to provide the most universal interface possible.
In addition to traditional instrument capabilities, the ZT4610 family delivers cutting edge innovation for modular instrument users. The ZT4610 family is built using the latest embedded processor and bus interface technologies to provide high speed continuous data transfers up to 100 MB/s and 64-bit on-board data processing. For programmatic control, the ZT4610 family has an intuitive driver interface that supports the most commonly used programming languages, such as C and LabVIEW. The driver provides both high and low level routines, giving the programmer complete and flexible control of the instrument.
The ZT4610 family is another example of how ZTEC is dedicated to make your test and measurement application a success. Combined with our calibration services and unlimited access to our technical support team, the ZT4610 family provides a complete oscilloscope solution for both stand-alone and automated test applications.
The ZT4610 family includes both 2 and 4 channel versions. The 2 channel version, the ZT4611, will be available in PCI and PXI by the middle of Q4 2006. The 2 channel ZT4611 and 4 channel ZT4612 for VXI will be available by the end of Q4 2006. For those interested in migrating to PXI Express, the ZT4611 for PXI is hybrid slot compatible.
