ZTEC Instruments to look at: ZT4211-E LXI
|
Our Capabilities
ZTEC Instruments offers off-the-shelf instruments based on the LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation (LXI) standard are an ideal solution for many particle accelerator applications. These applications require responsive remote control and realtime waveform monitoring for critical accelerator systems including machine protection and beam position monitoring. These instruments have the same feature sets and powerful analysis capabilities that today's high-end bench-top instruments have and yet they can be remotely controlled and monitored in a LAN environment. ZTEC's oscilloscopes and digitizers perform advanced real-time waveform math and analysis using on-board FPGAs and DSP.
ZTEC Instruments' oscilloscopes are being used at facilities around the world for real-time control and monitoring via the LXI platform.
Case Studies
Los Alamos National Laboratories
CHI-NU Program
ZTEC Instruments has created, specifically for Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) and the CHI-NU program, a custom built solution that enables Los Alamos National Labs to capture all of their neutron detection events. They are using the ZT4441 direct path instrument.
ZTEC and LANL have been working together on viable solutions for over 7 years.
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
KLYSTRON Program
ZTEC Instruments has provided SLAC at Stanford University with a complex hardware solution, the ZT4612 , embedded with EPICS software, to assist them with their development of high power RF sources and microwave components for HEP and BES programs.
ZTEC and SLAC have been working together towards this solution for over 5 years.
EPICS
ZTEC Instruments offers LXI platform instruments which include embedded EPICS input/output controllers (IOCs). The embedded EPICS controller enables the instruments to easily integrate into an EPICS environment without the need for EPICS drivers or external controllers. They can be controlled and monitored by EPICS applications such as EDM and MEDM with little effort. ZTEC Instrument engineers have already developed a basic EDM panel for controlling and interacting with our oscilloscopes. For more information on EPICS and how ZTEC Instruments work with EPICS, please see the EPICS page.
